The secret is finally out of the box! We’re thrilled to announce that you can find us in the Summer 2022 Jilly Box. Designed exclusively for this collaboration, we’ve included a beautiful citrus print summer headscarf.
If you haven’t heard of The Jilly Box before, it’s a curated lifestyle box filled with television personality and interior designer Jillian Harris’ favourite products and finds from small, sustainable and culturally diverse brands across North America. An invitation to live in the present and enjoy the simple things in life, the Summer 2022 Jilly Box includes some of Jillian’s favourite summer products to help you connect with nature, live more sustainably, and enjoy time outside with those you love most.
When it came to creating this one-of-a-kind print, The Jilly Box sent us a beautiful mood board to kick off the design process. Full of spring themes and colours, the team was inspired to create a trend-forward citrus pattern that focused on nature. The pattern also reflects what’s core to us here at tentree – tree planting. In Senegal, we plant lemon trees as part of an agroforestry program that empowers farmers to move away from subsistence farming and provides them with a stable income.
After gathering inspiration, creating numerous sketches and landing on the perfect colour palette, the scarves were manufactured at our accessories factory in Shanghai. Wanting to ensure our impact on the earth was minimal, we made these scarves from 100% organic cotton. Compared to conventional cotton, organic cotton reduces the amount of water needed during the manufacturing process, ensures safer working conditions for farmers and prioritizes sustainable farming practices. In addition to choosing sustainable materials, this collection gives back to the planet by planting 150,000 mangrove trees in Indonesia. This planting initiative helps support ecosystem restoration and creates meaningful employment for the surrounding communities.
